Summer Squash, Yellow Scallop Bush (Golden Custard)

Yellow pattypan summer squash over is 300 years old. This is the tastiest of 4 summer squash trialed on our farm. It tastes like a cross between a spaghetti squash and a cucumber.  I like them best picked small & fried with eggs. You can pick them larger up to 2-3 inches. They grow fast.

Space plants 18-24" apart with rows 6' apart. Wider spacing allows for easier harvesting. Plant/harvest radish prior to planting pumpkins can help for some insect control.
